The Writing Workshop

The WriteVoice Training Team conducts writing workshops virtually and face-to-face and can utilize a blended model based on expressed needs. Workshops can be flexibly conducted in a two-hour, four-hour, or six-hour timeframe. The following process is utilized to design a plan that meets the needs of the client.

  • Step 1 – Consult with the client. (Learn)
    • Listen to the writing successes and challenges expressed by the client.
    • Look at supporting data (e.g. achievement data, student work samples, lesson plans, perception surveys).
    • Learn more about current writing instruction and writing practices.
  • Step 2 – Formulate a training plan. (Design)
    • Develop clear learning outcomes for the writing training based on the consultation.
    • Determine the specific audience who will participate in the training.
    • Design a training model that includes the dates, timeframe, and delivery model.
  • Step 3 – Conduct the writing workshops. (Deliver)
    • Deliver the writing training.
    • Collect feedback from participants.
    • Debrief with the client to discuss writing “look fors” and to determine next steps.

The WriteVoice Toolkit: Simple Strategies for Improving Writing

I am excited to share that recently, I have compiled my highly sought-after and effective writing techniques into The WriteVoice Toolkit: Simple Strategies for Improving Writing (2021). In my Toolkit, I provide step-by-step guidance for each phase of the writing process. The included lessons, along with the  blank templates, provide educators and students with the support needed for thinking through and applying each strategy for each phase of the writing process. The end result is a writing that is clear, cogent, developed, and organized. Leaders, academic coaches, and teachers have commented that the strategies help students evolve into independent writers who can more skillfully navigate the writing process.

“We completed several sessions with Dr. Lee, and the writing results illustrated by the students were outstanding. Our students’ scores on the Georgia Milestones soared year after year!”
