Greetings!
I am Dr. Ebony T. Lee, the founder of WriteVoice, LLC, a company designed to equip educators with the “know-how” for developing students’ writing skills. I am currently an Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, and since entering the field of education 21 years ago, my greatest joy has been using evidence-informed literacy practices for improving reading and writing outcomes for students. I have served in various educational roles, starting out as a secondary English teacher and eventually serving in the roles of literacy coach, K-12 Language Arts Coordinator, college adjunct instructor, academic director, and now, an assistant superintendent.
My passion and expertise lie in literacy, and specifically in the area of improving reading and writing competencies. As a certified LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) trainer, I have undergone a deep study in the science of teaching reading and writing. I have used this knowledge, along with my doctoral thesis on improving writing in adolescents, to establish a set of core practices that has proven to be effective. I have been afforded the opportunities to conduct writing workshops and present locally, nationally, and recently, internationally at the 2019 Critical Thinking Institute in Leuven, Belgium. I have found that – no matter the geography – educators around the world desire straight-forward, easy-to-implement strategies that make their jobs more manageable.

My Objective
WriteVoice, LLC writing tools are grounded in the core principle of PRACTICAL, YET – YIELDS RESULTS! And when it comes to writing, I often say, “writing is the evidence of thinking; it makes that which is inward outward.” And my aspiration is to make the writing process less daunting for those who teach writing and for those who write. As a former literacy coach, Dr. Lee’s WriteVoice Writing Tools allowed me to successfully support teachers across all grade levels. Her repertoire of strategies helped me to establish a culture of writing throughout the school building.
